Advocate for Consumers (CHCAD1C)

Outline

This training course is designed to give participants the relevant skills and knowledge to support consumers to voice their opinions and needs and to ensure their rights are upheld.

Learning Outcomes

Training Participants will be able to:

Target group

People working with people with disability; people with disability; and anyone interested in protecting and promoting the rights of people with disability.

Assessment

Participants wishing to obtain a Statement of Attainment for CHCAD1C 'Advocate for Clients' will work through a case study and develop various actions. In addition, participants will participate in a telephone interview with the trainer. Assignments must be submitted within 14 days of the training day and telephone interviews conducted within the following 14 days. We encourage people with disability to participate and we will reasonably adjust to different needs. People unable to complete a full day's training in one sitting may attend the morning session and then complete the remaining 4 hours training at MDAA. These hours must be completed within 14 days of the training day along with the assignment.
