Individual Advocacy Stories

SteveSteve’s Story

Steve came in to South East Advocacy (SEA). Steve had a problem with telemarketers selling him mobile phones. He was in a lot of debt because of this as he signed up with several of them without fully understanding the contracts.

With the support of SEA, Steve rang Telstra and got these debts waived. With help from the individual advocate, Steve wrote a letter to Telstra giving them some ideas for how they could explain mobile phone plans better when they ring people up.

"Making it happen: a community where everyone,
regardless of background or disability, feels welcome, included and supported."
