Seminar on disability causes

Islamabad: National Council of Social Welfare (NCSW), Social Welfare Ministry will hold a seminar on "Disability Prevention, Rehabilitation and Management" here on 19 November to mobilise NGOs to work for the welfare of challenged persons.

The seminar is also aimed at promoting complete participation of the disabled persons in social life and the development as well as prevention and rehabilitation measures, an official told APP here Saturday.

He said that special people are an important segment of society and are willing to contribute to the economic, political and cultural life of their communities but are faced with barriers, which must be eliminated to ensure their active participation.

Chairman NCSW Rais Jahangir Ahmed, as a chief guest, will brief the participants about the achievements and plans of the government for the welfare of challenged persons. Senior officials from the ministry and representatives from NGOs will also attend the event.
