Shu at Greenwich Hospital in March 2007

Shu Hua Chan, a member of the Community Voices Project, presented her story to staff members of Pallister House, Greenwich Hospital, on 30 March.

Shu talked about her experiences of using medical services. Lessons were drawn and strategies and suggestions were also provided to improve services to people from non-English speaking backgrounds (NESB) with disability.

Everybody in the audience was very interested; they also shared their experiences and views about working at the hospital. The audience asked lots of questions, made positive comments and discussed MDAA Factsheets about working with communities from NESB.

On behalf of the audience, Justin and Nicole from Greenwich Hospital expressed their appreciation to Shu for her willingness to discuss these issues
