On 19 July 2007 Tony Shoushani (a Community Voice - CV) and George Ayoub (Individual Advocate) talked to the Dare to Care Conference at the Catholic Club in Liverpool organised by South West Sydney Ageing and Disability Support Services (Bankstown, Fairfield & Liverpool areas).

Local workers, people with disability and carers came to the Conference on 19 and 20 July. Everybody was very enthusiastic to hear stories from carers and people with disability and reports and experiences from workers. A lot of relevant information was shared between snacks and nice food and drinks.

One of the sessions, 'Tony: My Story' was the biggest one and Tony and George were there to talk about Tony's personal story (please see Tony on CV) as a member of MDAA's Committee and the CV Project. George explained how MDAA supported Tony dealing with some advocacy issues and also supports him as a member of MDAA's Committee.

Both Tony and George were excited and did a very articulate and interesting presentation to an audience of more then 70 people. After their talk a lot of people came to congratulate them, especially Tony for sharing some of his personal moments and experiences as a person with a disability from a non-English speaking background.

Joyce, Judith and Luis from MDAA were also there to provide information about what we do and how we do it. A lot of workers came to visit our stall and we soon ran out of most of our written and multimedia resources.

Thanks to Tara (and all the Conference organisers) for having us for the two days and for the support given to all of us.
