2003 Tamworth Working Party

When we were in Tamworth in July running the 'Communication ' workshops some people who attended felt they needed to put into action what they had learnt and get a little pro-active. A group decided they would like to do community education about things that affect people with disability living a rural area. They have formed a working party made up of people with disability, a mental health consumer representative and other interested people supported by the Advocacy in Action project.

The group is very proud to announce that they will be running a conference in March 2004 which will look at such issues as access to the community, inclusion, participation, belonging, bringing about change and ownership. This conference is for people with a disability run by people with a disability and the invitation will be extended to all community members.

Here are some photos of our hard working 'working party'.
